Marketing has a new French partner in Quebec.

Rogers Publishing has acquired AMPQ Magazine, solidifying its position as the only media company providing truly national, bilingual coverage of Canada’s marketing and communications sectors.

AMPQ is a leading French language publication, published 10 times a year and read by more than 58,000 marketing and communications professionals. Aside from the print magazine, AMPQ maintains AMPQ.com, produces a daily e-newsletter, AMPQ Quotidien (with 15,000 subscribers), and an annual directory, AMPQ Repertoire.

“This is an important acquisition that puts us in a leadership position in Quebec’s highly influential marketing community,” said John Milne, senior vice-president, business and professional publishing, Rogers Publishing.

“With Marketing magazine having just celebrated its 100th anniversary, we are already English Canada’s most trusted voice in the marketing industry. This acquisition further entrenches Rogers Publishing’s position as a one-stop shop for marketers who want to reach a truly national audience.”

Marketing’s February launch of the French daily newsletter Marketing au quotidien was “a good first step” to expanding Rogers’ coverage of the industry in Quebec, said Jean Goulet, executive publisher, business and professional publishing, at Rogers.

“With the AMPQ stable of assets, we can provide our Quebec constituency with a broad array of proven capabilities and a new standard of service.

“Quebec’s marketing and communications practitioners are leading the charge on a number of fronts in terms of innovation and creativity. This acquisition will allow us not only to celebrate their successes, but also to serve the important network of agency and clients based there.”

“In the coming weeks,” Goulet added, “a number of initiatives will be unveiled that will strengthen the editorial product while expanding the service offering for AMPQ’s readers and advertisers.”
