Senior production executive Nataline Rodrigues is making a move from CBC to Rogers Media.
Effective Oct. 1, Rodrigues will step into the role of director of original programming at Rogers Media as the company broadens its slate of original shows.
In this role (most recently held by Claire Freeland), Rodrigues will collaborate with independent TV producers and oversee their original Canadian programming pitches. Rodrigues will lead projects from the submission stage through to production, and will be responsible for all of Rogers Media’s TV brands outside of sports.
Current Rogers Media original series include Seed, Package Deal and The Bachelor Canada, all of which Rodriques will supervise.
Rodrigues’ most recent title at CBC was executive in charge of production – a role in which she led drama and comedy teams. Before her time with CBC she was also executive in charge of production at then-Canwest and Alliance Atlantis. She was integral to the relaunch of Slice and helped non-scripted series including Rich Bride, Poor Bride and ’Til Debt Do Us Part.
She has also sat on the other side of the table, having worked as a writer, director and producer in the independent factual and dramatic entertainment industry.
Rodrigues will report to Hayden Mindell, Rogers’ vice-president of programming and content, broadcast.
