Rogers Communications has struck an agreement to bring Quebecor‘s recently launched TVA Sports network to its lineup, under a deal that includes on-demand and mobile content.

The telecommunications company said Thursday the pact also includes the continued distribution of TVA Network and the Sun News channel. Financial details were not disclosed.

“The future of television is availability, not exclusivity, and that’s exactly what this deal is about,” said Rogers’ video products vice-president David Purdy in a release. “We’re excited to bring French-language programming to markets outside of Quebec, but also to provide our Quebec customers more access to content they want, on multiple devices with TVA on-demand.”

Both TVA Network and Sun News have been part of Rogers cable offerings, but TVA Sports, which launched last September, is a new addition to the lineup.

Last summer, Rogers joined Quebecor under an agreement to co-produce content to be shared by TVA Sports and Rogers’ Sportsnet channel.

The deal gave TVA the rights for French-language coverage of Blue Jays baseball games and Ottawa Senators hockey games.
