Rogers says it will not bid for the Canadian broadcast rights to the 2014 and 2016 Olympic Games.

Rogers Media president Keith Pelley said: “Scheduling conflicts, combined with our financial priorities, suggest that it’s best for us not to be involved at this time.”

Under the current agreement, Rogers Media is a 20% stakeholder in the Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium, with the remaining 80% interest controlled by CTV.

Rogers is part of the Canadian consortium that will broadcast the 2012 Summer Games from London.
