Jamie Schouela has been named Blue Ant Media’s executive vice-president of marketing and communications.
Schouela will supervise the privately held Toronto-based media company’s marketing and communications efforts across all its brands: Travel+Escape, Cottage Life, Bite TV (which recently underwent a rebranding), AUX TV, HIFI, Oasis HD, RadX and EQHD.
He will officially join the executive ranks at Blue Ant on June 10. Schouela arrives from Shaw Media, where he managed marketing and communications for Global Television and the company’s specialty channels as VP, marketing. He also oversaw the channels’ online initiatives.
Prior to that position, he held other senior marketing roles at that company, then called Canwest. His career in media began in 1995, when he did promotions for Mix 96 Radio.
Raja Khanna , Blue Ant’s CEO, digital and television, said in a release that Schouela’s history of “successfully growing and engaging audiences across multiple platforms will be a huge asset” to Blue Ant’s brands.
The company, named Marketing‘s 2012 Media Player of the Year, also received final approval earlier this year to take ownership of Bold, a digital specialty channel, from the CBC.
