Schwartz makes a move to Fuse

Brad Schwartz, mostly recently senior vice-president, general manager of the Much MTV Group at CTV, has joined Fuse, Madison Square Garden’s national music TV network as SVP of programming and operations.

According to a release, he will be based in New York and build Fuse’s music-only strategy by developing new original programming and live event coverage, as well as expanding the Fuse brand. Other responsibilities will include overseeing and directing acquisitions, scheduling, creative and production.

A request for comment about Schwartz’s replacement at CTV was not immediately returned.

Schwartz will report to Fuse’s executive vice-president and GM David Clark. Commenting in a release, Clark said Fuse is looking to expand its original programming and highlight its collaborations with MSG Entertainment through the ‘Fuse Presents’ concert series.

“Brad’s extensive experience and proven track record in content creation and brand building make him the ideal choice to head up our programming team,” said Clark.

Fuse appeals to its 18-to-34 target demo with music programming on-air, online, on-demand and via mobile technologies. It is part of MSG Media, whose other TV networks include MSG and MSG Plus.

In his role at CTV, Schwartz oversaw several of Canada’s largest music television brands including MTV, MTV2, MuchMusic and MuchVibe. Prior to that he was director of global marketing partnerships for MTV Networks International.
