Score Media Inc. said Thursday it earned a third-quarter profit of $684,000, down from $723,000 a year ago, as revenue increased.

The sports broadcaster said the profit amounted to a penny per share for the three months ended May 31. Revenue for the quarter was $10.2 million, up from $9.4 million. It was the first time the company has brought in more than $10 million in a quarter.

“Q3 was an excellent quarter for Score Media,” said John Levy, chairman and CEO. “We achieved record quarterly revenue and EBITDA, and posted solid audience growth in our core live event properties, both on television and online.”

“Our cross platform coverage of the NCAA March Madness tournament and the NBA playoffs was very well received by our advertising partners,” he added. Score’s coverage of NCAA March Madness included TV, online, mobile devices and on video-on-demand. For its key 18-49 year old male demographic, Score said TV audiences were up 14% over tournament coverage in the prior year, while unique visitors online were up 27%.

“Advertisers are increasingly demanding creative integrated solutions and Score Media is well positioned to capitalize on this.”

Score Media has the Score Television Network specialty television channel as well as Hardcore Sports Radio, a satellite radio network, and other interactive assets.
