SMG Canada appoints Anne Myers as COO

More changes at the top for Starcom MediaVest Group

Just days after appointing a new CEO, Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) Canada has promoted Anne Myers to chief operating officer. Myers was most recently president of MediaVest and SMG Performance Marketing.

Alex Panousis, who took over as CEO from Bruce Neve last week, said she and Myers have worked in “close collaboration” over the past five years while running the sister Starcom and MediaVest agencies.

“We share team-based values and expect our complementary skills to continue to propel SMG agencies to diversify our business and build scaled digital, content and data practices,” said Panousis in a release.

MediaVest has doubled in size since Myers took over as president in 2010. Prior to taking over as president, she was EVP, managing director at SMG. Her two-decade career also includes stints with OMD Canada, DDB Canada, Ogilvy and Eaton’s. She also currently sits on the boards of the Canadian Media Directors’ Council and the Alliance for Audited Media (AAM).
