AOL Canada’s new country manager is not just an average Joe.

Joe Strolz

Digital advertising veteran Joe Strolz was formally introduced as AOL Canada’s general manager on Tuesday morning. He succeeds Graham Moysey, who is relocating to London on Jan. 1 to assume a new role as senior vice-president and head of international.

Strolz arrives at AOL from Microsoft Canada, where he spent three years as VP of Microsoft Advertising – responsible for advertising revenue across the company’s various business lines, including premium display, mobile, social and programmatic media.

His long career in Canada’s digital marketing industry and his leadership in the digital space recently led to him being appointed chair of the IAB Canada board. Strolz has also held positions at several leading digital publishers, including Canwest Media (now Postmedia) and Bell Canada’s Sympatico/MSN brands.

He will report to Moysey and assume leadership of AOL’s Canada’s senior management team, which includes head of sales and business development Dana Toering; head of content Brad Cressman; and head of operations Leanne Gibson.

“We are thrilled to have Joe join the AOL Canada team,” said Moysey in a release. “[He] has consistently proven himself in the digital space as a leader who can build winning teams and drive revenue and advertiser solutions at scale. I will be looking to him continue our significant growth in the Canadian market and focus on continued investment into our robust content portfolio.”
