Telus has reached an agreement to purchase Enode Inc., an IT company based in Quebec, for an undisclosed amount.

The company provides information security and risk management for business and government agencies, and will be integrated into the Telus Security Solutions division on April 1.

Enode president and CEO Martin Berthiaume said the transaction follows several years of working together with Telus on projects in Quebec.

Telus has been expanding its operations in Internet data security, opening two data centres in Quebec and British Columbia in 2012.

“The number of organizations victimized by security breaches continues to rise every year,” said Yogen Appalraju, vice-president, Telus Security Solutions.

“By expanding our capacity with the acquisition of Enode, we are strengthening our ability to protect our customers against web-based threats for many years to come.”
