The Loop partners with BuzzFeed for video content

Social shares for the site's content are up 15% since 2014 rebrand

Bell Media’s lifestyle and entertainment hub The Loop has announced a new content partnership with BuzzFeed that gives it access to the U.S. site’s extensive video catalogue.

BuzzFeed joins existing partners CTV News, eTalk and PopSugar as original content providers.

The Loop announced a July rebrand Bell said was designed to promote “shareability” of its content. According to Bell, The Loop’s social shares to Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter have increased 15% since the rebrand, while the site now attracts close to 1 million unique visitors per month.

The site has also tripled its mobile traffic since last spring, with approximately one third of its visits now coming via mobile devices.

Top videos on The Loop include red carpet coverage of the 2015 Golden Globe Awards, which garnered more than 850,000 page views in a week, and a round-up of Americans’ questions about Canada that has received more than 313,000 page views and shared more than 5,500 times on Facebook.
