The Score Fighting Series (SFS), a mixed martial arts (MMA) series owned and run by Score Media, has a new broadcast partner in the U.S. – AXS TV, an independent TV network.

AXS TV is no stranger to the MMA arena. It already airs Friday Night Mixed Martial Arts and Kickboxing Live events as part of its “AXS TV Fights” programming. Other AXS TV live MMA fight broadcasts include Titan Fighting Championship and Maximum Fighting Championship.

Score Media, which also runs national sports specialty service theScore Television Network, held the first SFS in June 2011.

The first SFS that will air as part of the new deal is the SFS that will take place on Oct. 19 in Sarnia, Ont. The event headliner will be Chris Horodecki, a Canadian MMA athlete.

Over the next year, the SFS will run at least six more events live on AXS TV. TheScore will also air the SFS events live.

Commenting on the deal with AXS TV, SFS promoter Brendan Fyfe said in a release that the partnership will generate “greater exposure for our fighters and sponsors.”

AXS TV Fights CEO Andrew Simon added “The addition of The Score Fight Series bolsters AXS TV’s reputation for broadcasting more live MMA than any other network while also bringing more attention to SFS.”

AXS TV also airs music, entertainment and pop culture events.
