Toronto-based custom content company Totem has looked inside the organization to replace outgoing senior vice-president of marketing and business development Joseph Barbieri, who is leaving the company after 10 years.

Succeeding Barbieri as VP, business development is Michael Grier, who has more than 15 years of media sales experience with companies including Canwest and Bell Globemedia, and an additional 10 years in the branded content realm with Cossette Communications and Totem.

In addition to handling Barbieri’s role, Michael will continue to manage the company’s media sales function said Totem president and CEO Eric Schneider in an e-mail to Marketing.

“[Grier] is an accomplished leader, bringing new energy into the role and further perspective to the content spectrum, spearheading new innovations which include the partnership of brand, agency and media to create new forms of content for consumers,” said Schneider.
