Two Toronto PR shops merge

Anya Nordström and Dani Matte join forces to serve fashion, lifestyle and music brands

NordströmMatte Public RelationsAnya Nordström of ANPR and Dani Matte of MOI Management & PR have partnered to form NordströmMatte Public Relations, a PR firm in Toronto that specializes in fashion, lifestyle, beauty, music, entertainment and consumer brands.

The two started working together a few years ago and the merger “was just sort of a natural and organic transition for us,” says Nordström.

NordströmMatte’s client roster includes a mix of fashion brands such as luxury alpaca women’s outerwear collection Sentaler, menswear designers Christopher Bates and Andrew Coimbra, diamond concierge Bijoux by Amy and soon-to-be-launched women’s handbag line Piper & Skye. The agency also represents celebrity hair stylist Rob Pizzuti.

Matte, who has experience in music and dance, launched MOI Management & PR eight years ago. She has also held several freelance contract positions including producing runway shows at L’Oréal Fashion Week.

Nordström, a former model, began her career in public relations nearly eight years ago producing runway shows and presentations at New York Fashion Week in Bryant Park. She launched ANPR after a stint as director of public relations for the first Toronto Men’s Fashion Week.

Unlike large PR firms, NordströmMatte will take on smaller clients or emerging companies, and not lock them down into a 12 month retainer “when they might not be ready to invest that large amount of money,” Nordström says.

The firm is in the process of hiring, she says.
