Martin Rivard has left Rethink to return to Montreal.

Rivard and his partner and art director, Nicolas Quintal left BBDO Montreal in August 2006 to handle the French language needs of national Rethink clients such as A&W Restaurants, Sirius Satellite Radio and Future Shop from the Vancouver office.

Chris Staples, a partner at the agency, said that after the agency parted ways with Future Shop at the end of 2006 about half of the agency’s French work disappeared.

“Martin was homesick for Montreal,” says Staples. “We were keeping him as busy as we could with A&W and stuff, but there wasn’t enough for him to do.”

Quintal is still at Rethink and working on A&W in both French and English, says Staples.
