Veritas Communications has been named the CBC‘s agency of record for publicity and promotion. The network made the announcement today after a review process that began in March.

“Veritas brings a publicity track record defined by strong creativity and innovation; a breadth of experience with large organizations and major campaigns and, through their affiliates, extensive experience working with and within the broadcasting and Canadian media/entertainment industry,” said CBC executive director of communications, brand and promotion Bridget Hoffer, in a statement. “We look forward to a productive, creative and innovative partnership in the coming years.”

“We’re very excited and thrilled to be working on the iconic Canadian brand,” said Beverley Hammond, president and CEO of Veritas. “The CBC has tremendous properties and amazing personalities, so the opportunity to work with the network is very exciting for us. I think we bring a lot of experience working with personalities, have a strong track record for big campaigns, and we’re forward and progressive in our social and digital offerings, so all that combined got us through the very rigorous [review] process.”

Veritas takes over from Media Profile, which worked with the network for the past five years. A CBC statement said a transition plan is in effect and current publicity and promotional activities, including those associated with the FIFA World Cup, will continue as usual.

“Media Profile has been a great partner and we would like to thank them for the hard work, dedication and creativity they have displayed throughout our journey together,” Hoffer said.

“Our partnership with CBC has been a fantastic experience for everyone at Media Profile,” said Alison King, president of Media Profile, in a statement. “We’re excited to leverage that publicity experience for a range of new clients.”
