Five trophies from the Internationalist Awards for Innovation in Media came north of the border last week. Three Canadian agencies won a total of six awards, including a Grand Prix.
Starcom Mediavest Group listed its Canadian team among the contributors to the Grand Prix-winning “Project Teamwork,” a multi-market campaign for Samsung produced alongside the company’s U.K., Middle Eastern, Caribbean and South African operations.
A Canadian agency has won a Grand Prix each of the awards’ four years. Previous top honours have gone to OMD Canada, PHD Canada and Media Experts.
Starcom brought home the most awards among Canadian agencies at the 2012 awards, winning a Gold for TD Bank’s “Jazz Festival” work and a Silver for Beam Global’s “Courvoisier Collective.”
PHD won two Silvers for two of its Peroni campaigns – “Moda Files” and “Summer Style.”
MediaCom Canada rounds out the Canuck winners with a Silver for Maytag Canada’s “Laundry Night in Canada.”
Forty nine awards in total were handed out at a ceremony in New York on April 4.
The awards are organized by The Internationalist magazine. Submissions are judged on their innovative use of media and ability to provide business solutions and results.
