It wasn’t easy, but Marketing has selected Canada’s Top Agencies for 2008.
From a long list of dozens, these agencies that are in the running for Agency of the Year were chosen by Marketing’s editorial team within a break from traditionassistance from an external panel of industry advisors.
“We had our own short list of contenders, but the discussion with our panel of experts opened our eyes to other possibilities and played an important part in our final decisions,” said Paul Ferriss, Marketing’s executive editor.
Making the list this year are:
Bleu Blanc Rouge
DDB
Juniper Park
Leo Burnett
Ogilvy & Mather
PHD
Sid Lee
Taxi
Zig
As in the past, the contenders were evaluated on industry leadership and business success.
“But the emphasis this year was on creativity and big ideas,” said Ferriss. “More than in previous years, we picked our top agencies based on their catalogue of innovative and breakthrough ideas that could be applied across all mediafrom billboards to TV to the Web.”
“The editorial team carefully considered a lot of agencies and some were in the running right up to the end, but we feel these 10 agencies are have the most compelling stories to tell for 2008.”
Those stories will be presented in the Nov. 24 issue of the magazine, along with profiles of Canada’s Top Marketers and Canada’s Top Media Players. That list of marketers will be in tomorrow’s Marketing Daily, and the Media Players will be revealed on Thursday morning.
The Agency of the Year, Marketer of the Year and Media Player of the Year will be revealed at the annual Marque Awards in Toronto Nov. 26 and profiled in the Dec. 8 issue of the magazine, available Dec. 1.
