Twist Image has announced the addition of Karla Congson and Kelly Small to its Toronto team as executive strategy director and creative director, respectively.

Congson was most recently at Y&R Canada, where she was executive vice-president, client leader for Ford Canada. She was responsible for coordinating Ford’s brand strategy across all WPP agencies and various media channels, and played a key role in developing a five-year strategic communications plan for the account. Through 17 years in marketing, Congson has also worked in account services and strategic planning at Publicis, as a marketer at AIM Trimark, and as founder and principal at Blue Sky Marketing Communications, a consultancy specializing in brand development strategy.

Kelly Small

“As the digital marketing landscape continues to expand, we were looking for a seasoned and smart senior marketer that would be able to provide a depth of leadership, coupled with the strategic and planning experience to future-proof our work,” said Twist CEO Mark Goodman in a release. “Karla fits the bill perfectly.”

Small comes from a background in art direction that includes stints at RC Design, Tag Idea Revolution and, most recently, 6degrees, where she worked with clients like Absolut, Colgate, Fererro, Movember, Shoppers Drug Mart and World Vision Canada.

Twist, an independent digital agency with offices in Toronto and Montreal, has been expanding to meet client demand, recently hiring 12 full-time employees in addition to Congson and Small.
