The Canadian office of Clark + Huot Branding has merged with two other Winnipeg-based agencies, Cocoon Branding and Velocity/Spacecadet Design, creating a new entity called ClarkHuot/Cocoon.

A news release describes ClarkHuot/Cocoon as a “next-generation” agency that will provide clients with a “greater level of creative excellence.” The agency will also have access to the resources of Clark + Huot’s New York City office.

While one discipline tended to dominate when the agencies operated separately, Edmond Huot, newly appointed executive creative director of ClarkHuot, said in a release that the new entity boasts “the extraordinary potential of being grounded in a media-neutral, content-first creative platform, powered by our insights into consumer behaviour.”

Kyle Romaniuk, former brand director and principal at Cocoon Branding, has been named managing director , while Chris Clarke has been appointed partner of its digital practice.

“The unique service offering we’ve constructed empowers our clients to access any resources they want by increasing our collective scale and capability,” said Romaniuk in a release. “The addition of Chris Clarke and Velocity will immediately strengthen our digital practice and give us the ability to provide our clients with an ideal combination of local experience and service and the ability to access resources from around the world.”

The new agency has embarked on an “integration process” to deal with overlap in professional offerings (corporate identity work, creative concept development, connection planning, digital activation strategy, app development, media et cetera) as well as human resources, finance and operations. The process is expected to be complete within the next 60-90 days.
