“Insights” to bring marketers up to speed on new technology

The Postmedia Network-owned BetaKit has launched a new quarterly report called BetaKit Insights that enlists a team of in-house analysts to provide data, trend presentations and case studies to businesses and marketers.

While BetaKit’s website typically offers daily articles on new technologies, the aim of the new report is to highlight the most important trends and the impact they will have.

BetaKit was founded by Sarah Prevette, who also founded Sprouter, an online community that connects startup founders to experts. As Sprouter CEO, she often receives calls from executives asking how new technologies could affect their businesses. With the new report, she aims to educate this audience.

Because technology changes so quickly, many marketers are reluctant to make decisions based on new trends. That apprehension comes from a lack of understanding, Prevette said, explaining that once businesses are provided with context and data, they’re better able to leverage new technologies.

Wayne Parish, COO of the Postmedia Network, said the new report addresses a major issue among business leaders.

“Just keeping up with developments – let alone understanding them and ultimately having the wherewithal to apply that understanding to your own company’s particular issues – is perhaps the number one challenge facing senior business leaders today,” Parrish said.

The new report is part of the $2,995 annual subscription.
