The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC) is mere days away from announcing its first agency of record.
After a three week review, three Halifax agenciesColour, Revolve and Extreme Grouphave been shortlisted. Each have worked on the account previously.
Rick Perkins, vice-president, communications, said he expects to notify the winner next week.
The corporation will be able to work with other agencies, but is looking for a single shop to provide a platform for both internal and external marketing. The assignment will exclude social responsibility marketing.
Previously, the NSLC used a pool of a dozen Halifax-area agencies. The change comes as a result of feedback from those agency partners.
“We’ve had a lot of remarks from our agencies that they’d prefer an agency of record approach,” said Perkins. “A lot of them were getting just a little bit of [our business], but that can be costly for them because of the uncertainty of the revenue source and resources.”
NSLC has an annual marketing budget of approximately $1.4 million, which includes spending on responsibility campaigns.
