Ontario Progressive Conservatives are fighting back against attack ads that take aim at Opposition Leader Tim Hudak ahead of the fall election.
The ads by a union-led group called Working Families mock Hudak as a Bay Street yes-man who will weaken human rights and safety laws to pad the pockets of big business. (Click here to see the ad on the Working Families website)
The 30-second spots started Monday and have been playing prominently on television.
Conservative campaign manager Mark Spiro said the party is launching a complaint about the ads with the Television Bureau of Canada.
He said the ads – funded by a group that has ties to the Liberal party – violate television advertising guidelines.
Spiro said the party has also launched a new website, TruthAboutTimHudak.com, to counter allegations made against Hudak in the lead-up to the Oct. 6 provincial election.
