In the May 16 issue of Marketing I wrote about the Canadian-made campaign for BMW‘s 1M halo car, which grew from a single concept on chief creative officer Brent Choi‘s desk to a series of big-idea, cinematic ads that will become the global platform for the car.
The spots were under wraps at that point, but the first has been released online.
The spot was conceived by Cundari, BMW Group Canada’s agency of record, and shot in partnership with the Los Angeles-based production company Bandito Brothers (which signed on at a bit of a discount after hearing about what Cundari wanted to accomplish).
With 10 cameras, a fleet of shooting vehicles and a internationally-supported budget, it marks BMW Group Canada’s first video spot since the Model-T was in production.
No word on when the next two ads will land. They’ll live online and in cinemas when they do appear.
See the May 16 issue of Marketing for more details on how Cundari developed this work.
