Blue Ant Media buys Cottage Life Media, terms not immediately available

Blue Ant Media said Wednesday it has bought Cottage Life Media Inc., publisher of Cottage Life, Cottage, Outdoor Canada, and Canadian Home Workshop.

Financial terms of the agreement were not immediately available.

In addition to the various Cottage Life websites, the deal also includes the company’s custom magazines, books, social media apps, and the Cottage Life consumer shows.

Blue Ant said Cottage Life Media will continue to be led by founder and chief executive Al Zikovitz.

“The acquisition by Blue Ant will provide strategic extension and expansion of the Cottage Life brand, positioning it for continued success in the rapidly changing media environment,” Zikovitz said in a statement.

Blue Ant has held a stake in Cottage Life since July 2011 when it acquired a minority stake in Quarto Communications, Cottage Life Media’s previous iteration.
