Mediaedge:cia president Bruce Grondin is retiring after a 35-year career in media, the past 10 of which have been spent in his current role. His last day is May 31.
“It’s been my privilege to work with the dynamic team here at Mediaedge:cia and with a stellar roster of clients,” said Grondin in a release. “We have accomplished a great deal since launching Mediaedge:cia a decade ago. I know I am leaving the agency with strong leadership in place.”
Grondin will be succeeded by Bruce Neve, currently the agency’s senior vice-president, managing director. Neve has over 20 years experience in media, with work spanning the automotive, beer, retail, telecommunications, entertainment and travel/tourism categories.
“[Neve] has always championed creative and innovative solutions to communication planning and stays on top of emerging technologies and their impact on the consumer and the media landscape,” said Lee Doyle, Mediaedge:cia’s North American CEO, in a release.
Doyle said that it will be a “seamless” transition between “the Bruces.”
Mediaedge:ciawhich with MediaCom and MindShare, comprises GroupM Canadais the country’s fourth largest media agency, with projected billings of US$466 million in 2007 according to the latest report from Paris-based research firm RECMA. Its clients include Ford, Mazda, Molson and Cara Foods.
“Under [Grondin’s] leadership, Mediaedge:cia has grown to become a leader in communications planning, media planning and buying, digital and direct interaction, as well as sport, entertainment and cause partnerships,” said Neve in the release.
