Shaw Communications has embarked on a multi-year partnership with Canadian golfer Graham DeLaet that will see Canada’s top-ranked PGA Tour pro feature the company logo on his hat and golf bag.

Graham DeLaet

DeLaet makes his first appearance in his new Shaw-branded gear at the 2014 Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego next week.

Shaw becomes DeLaet’s official communications provider as part of the deal, while the company said in a release that it will use its media assets to “explore all opportunities” to create new golf content for viewers and advertisers.

“I’m very excited to be part of the Shaw team,” said DeLaet in a release. “Shaw is one of the great, homegrown Canadian companies with a storied history of charitable and community support, which is something that I strongly believe in.”

Shaw-owned Global Television is a regular golf broadcaster, and the company is also a sponsor of the RBC Canadian Open and title sponsor of the Shaw Charity Classic, the annual Champions Tour event held at Calgary’s Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club.

DeLaet had a breakout year in 2013, recording seven top-10 finishes and finishing 21st on the PGA Tour’s money list. He has started the 2014 season with two top-10 finishes in three official events.
