Two of TC Media‘s senior-level magazine executives, Lynn Chambers and Caroline Andrews, have new roles that reflect the company’s efforts to grow its presence in custom content and enhance its consumer brands.

Lynn Chambers

Chambers, formerly vice-president and group publisher of Canadian Living, Elle Canada and Fresh Juice (a print publication she launched in 2011 with Loblaw) has been appointed vice-president of custom content and general manager of Totem Brand Stories. She will still be responsible for Fresh Juice.

Her new responsibilities include enhancing custom content opportunities for Totem clients and working to build the company’s owned media initiatives.

Ted Markle, senior vice-president of content solutions and office of the president at TC Media, said “no one has occupied this position to the extent of this scope in the past. Lynn’s appointment represents our commitment to this category and a renewed focus on its development.”

Markle said Chambers will have a major role in “refining our company-wide content offering and creating strategic propositions for clients, leveraging opportunities for integrated initiatives with TC Media.”

In Chambers’ time at TC Media, she has used her multiplatform publishing experience to create brand extensions for flagship properties. She oversaw the new tablet app iterations of Elle Canada and Canadian Living and led the formation of Fresh Juice. She also forged the partnership between the Best Recipes Ever television show and the CBC.

Caroline Andrews

Andrews, meanwhile, has been appointed vice-president and group publisher of consumer solutions for Toronto and Vancouver. The job is an extension of her existing role and entails growing the core consumer brands within TC Media’s English portfolio.

In addition to the brands in Andrews’ current portfolio – Style at Home, The Hockey News, TV Guide, Canadian Gardening, Vancouver Magazine and Western Living – she is taking over responsibility for Canadian Living and Elle Canada.

After TC Media in 1997, Andrews worked on newspapers in Ontario and Nova Scotia. Ten years later she moved to the magazine division, where her most recent job title was VP and group publisher, sports, home, entertainment and Western titles.

Both appointments are effective immediately.
