Anita Kapadia has joined Vancouver ad tech startup Pressboard from Huffington Post Canada where she served as head of brand solutions.

As director of partnerships at Pressboard, she’ll be responsible for expanding the company’s advertiser and agency relationships across the country. Kapadia will be based out of the company’s Toronto office, which it opened last fall to attract more advertisers and media influencers to its platform.

Pressboard’s platform connects brands with opportunities to sponsor content. Positioned as the “Cupid of Content,” it pairs advertisers with publishers and specific pieces of content that are relevant to their brand and the audience they want to reach.

Since Pressboard launched last spring, it has published over 500 pieces of custom content on behalf of brands like Telus,  Nature Valley, and Honda.

Co-founder Jerrid Grimm said Kapadia’s history leading The Huffington Post’s branded content initiatives since it was acquired by AOL back in 2011, means her experience is “virtually unmatched in this market.”

“Very few people have her depth of experience across such a diverse number of brands in such a digitally minded content environment,” he said, in a release. “We couldn’t be more excited to have Anita join the Pressboard team.”

Earlier this year, Pressboard also hired Neil Malik from Wasserman and Partners to take on the role of director of content strategy.
