IAB Canada has appointed Touché’s Stephane Hue and The Weather Network’s Vladimir Tasovac as co-chairs of its Quebec chapter.
The duo are filling the role left vacant after the departure of regional director Samuel-François Parent last year.
Hue and Tasovac will represent Quebec in IAB joint council meetings and lead the implementation of national initiatives with Quebec advertisers, agencies and publishers. They will also have latitude to explore partnerships with local Quebec organizations and create initiatives specific to the market.
In the U.S., the IAB primarily represents publishers, but IAB Canada (an unaffiliated organization) has strived to represent publishers, agencies and advertisers equally. The Quebec chapter will maintain that tradition with one co-chair bringing an agency perspective and the other hailing from the publisher side.
“To evolve and bring out the potential digital has to offer, clients, media partners and agencies must come together as partners in innovation,” Hue said in a statement.
Hue has been with Touché since 2008, initially as a digital strategist and today as director of media trading. He’s worked with both national clients like Scotiabank, Sport Chek and Boston Pizza, and Quebec advertisers like Lebeau and Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec.
Tasovac, meanwhile, has been an account executive with The Weather Network/MétéoMédia since 2009, specializing in mobile and tablet advertising. He has been very active with the IAB, having founded the Quebec chapter’s Mobile Committee in 2013 and sat on interactive and educational committees.
“Stephane and Vladimir came forward as partners to help galvanize IAB Canada’s presence in their market and restore its involvement to what it has been in the past,” IAB Canada president Sonia Carreno told Marketing in an email. “IAB Canada has an incredible history of influence across Canada, and Quebec specifically has seen IAB Canada as the go-to for deep digital thought leadership. The timing was right for Stephane and Vladimir to re-energize the market.”
Carreno said the organization was also seeking new regional leadership for the maritime and west coast regions.
