The Awkward Question: Would you use an ad blocker?

Execs from True Impact and PageFair talk about why people opt out of ads

When you put people on camera to talk about ad-blocking, it’s easy to say high-level and theoretical. We weren’t about to let speakers from our recent AdTech Canada 2016 event off the hook so easily.

Johnny Ryan came all the way from Ireland to discuss how his firm, PageFair, is trying to combat the rise of technologies that let consumers effectively opt out of digital marketing experiences. Diana Lucaci, meanwhile, presented neuroscience research that showed why it’s more important than ever to develop creative that truly captivates.

We had both Ryan and Lucaci put the ad blocking debate in context, and pushed them to talk about whether they’ve ever been interested in joining those turning ads off. Here’s what they said.
