Tribune Company to make big cuts to its business side
In an effort to “unify the noneditorial functions” of its publishing businesses, the Tribune Company—owner of The Los Angeles Times and The Chicago Tribune—is set to lay off 700 employees at the two newspapers and six more that it owns. The company plans to move its focus to its TV holdings and split its newspaper side into a separate company.

Microsoft sells not-so-nice Google mugs
The company behind Windows is selling swag with Google’s logo on it and taglines such as“Keep calm while we steal your data.” They weren’t exactly for public consumption, but a few blog posts pulled the hand away from Microsoft’s grinning and snickering. We await the response.

There’s going to be Cinnabon Vodka
Once derided by Louis CK for being too delicious and irresistable (although maybe not in way that benefited the brand… watch this NSFW link to judge for yourself), Cinnabon will soon be the latest flavoured vodka. Pinnacle, which already has several SKUs in the category, is launching it Dec. 1.
