The Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA) is asking the Canadian marketing community to help support flood relief efforts for residents and businesses in Calgary and the surrounding region.

“Calgary member agencies, their staff and clients have been hard hit by this natural disaster and are struggling to recover,” said ICA CEO Gillian Graham, in a release. “We feel it’s important to reach out to the broader Canadian marketing and advertising communications community and ask it to join us in assisting the Red Cross in their efforts.”

The ICA hopes to make a significant donation to the Red Cross, with support from agencies and marketers. The Red Cross has set up a dedicated URL for donations through the ICA at http://www.redcross.ca/ica.

To help raise funds, the ICA will be hosting a pizza lunch with Pizza Nova tomorrow at noon in the lobby of the Yonge Eglinton Centre.

The ICA is also looking for non-monetary support from Canadian marketers. “Several members of the ICA have already offered to flex their creative resources to donate to the cause and/or create fund-raising initiatives of their own,” said Graham.
