After more than 12 years at KBS+, creative director Luc Perreault recently moved to Palm+Havas in Montreal.

As vice-president, creative director replacing the position left vacant by the departure of Pascal de Decker, he will oversee creation across all platforms.

“Luc and I were often bumping into each other in social events, and I already had affinity with him,” said Ann Bouthillier, president and CEO of Palm+Havas. “Since the majority of our communications are for large-bodied, national clients, I was looking for someone who had a rich experience and could work with different partners, in Canada and abroad (we work a lot with partners in Germany on our Volksagen account), and that eliminated a lot of candidates.

“Luc is a rallying person, and that’s exactly what we were looking for.”

Palm+Havas has adjusted its operations recently. The agency’s creative department has been restructured so that every creative director (Perreault; Jean-Christian Bizier, formerly of LG2; the recently promoted Étienne Bessette and Neil Frisby) now works for specific brands instead of on all the accounts.

In March, Palm created a digital division in its Toronto office, to which 20 staff are now assigned. In Montreal, the digital team comprises about 15 people, and Bouthillier said Palm wants a better synergy between the two divisions.

“Until now, the Toronto team was more serving Havas Worldwide needs,” Bouthillier said. “Now we want to leverage this digital expertise for Palm+Havas in the country.”

Via Rail, Volkswagen, Kruger, Loblaws and Quiznos Sub are among Palm+Havas clients.
