• Congrats to regional broadcaster TSN Jets, which BBM Canada reports landed more than 490,000 viewers in its region for its first Winnipeg Jets broadcast. The release sayeth “The audience Reach is especially impressive given that TSN Jets is available in approximately 500,000 homes throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, and parts of Northwestern Ontario.”
• Burger King Canada claims they sell “as much as” 10% of all poutine servings bought in Canada. That’s an accomplishment… though a bit vague. “As much as?” In any case, it’s launching two new poutine dishes: Angry Poutine and Poutine with Bacon.
• “Sobeys Inc. is launching a sustainable seafood traceability system today to provide Canadians with unprecedented visibility into the quality and sustainability of the seafood they eat.” It’s called ThisFish.
• Happy birthday to Zoom Media, which recently turned 20-years old and is planning to celebrate with its customers over the coming weeks.
• Bundling isn’t just for telco’s anymore. Postmedia (which runs the National Post) is offering advertisers “reduced base rates, lower pricing on colour, discounting by section, and special bundling discounts of up to 15% off rate card rates when buying across multiple platforms.”
• Kitchener, Ont.’s Hagon Design recently threw a fundraising BBQ to raise cash and awareness of African drought relief. The relatively small event raised more than $5,000 for the Red Cross.
