As part of a new initiative, German printing press manufacturer manroland is offering training along with sales and marketing support for its customers to help them calculate and promote carbon neutral printing.

Manroland is partnering with Munich-based ClimatePartner, consultants for climate protection and sustainability issues, to offer its printing press customers individualized CO2 calculators to measure their Carbon footprint. In turn, printing companies can use the information to improve their processes and also position themselves as environmental leaders.

There is also a program whereby  printers can purchase emission certificates to neutralize the CO2 emissions of their production.

This is the press manufacturer’s latest customer-facing environmental initiative. Earlier this year manroland launched the Ecometer, allowing printing company’s to measure their energy use and receive suggestions for  sustainably improving their printing processes.
