Beers from around the globe unite for the LCBO’s “Beer World” in-store and online promotion, on now until Aug. 13.
With summer season in full swing, beer sales at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) are at their peak, which is why the retailer is reminding beer drinkers the store has over 340 brews from which to choose.

A series of five radio ads from Toronto agency Blammo promote “Beer World,” which has its own online space at LCBOBeer.com where consumers can find recommendations, recipes, “beers of the day” or take a five-question multiple choice quiz to determine their beer personality.
The ads also remind consumers that they can purchase been in single cans and bottles. The single-serve beer segment has tripled in volume at the LCBO in the last six years and accounts for 38% of the stores beer sales.
While online, consumers can find out which LCBO locations are hosting beer-tasting events. The LCBO is also promoting the event through its newly designed app, which is currently available for the iPhone, iPod touch and, as of today, Blackberry.
“The biggest thing we are trying to show with this promotion is we have over 340 beers from 42 different countries,” said Trina Hendry, LCBO’s media relations consultant. “It’s definitely an opportunity for customers to try new things.”
“Because a lot of our products are served in single cans, people can really experiment with new products without buying an entire case at one time,” she said.
