Cadbury Adams Canada has ended the short broadcast run of a TV spot that served as a teaser for an upcoming campaign for its Crispy Crunch brand.
The commercial showed a white-haired man claiming to be a hypnotist, in closeup. The man tells viewers that, after watching the spot, they will experience a craving for a Crispy Crunch chocolate bar every time they hear the honk of a car horn. He then adds that the audience will remember nothing of what he has said once he claps his hands, and concludes the ad with a short clap.
Cadbury Adams ran the spot, which was created by Toronto-based MacLaren McCann, from late December until last week.
According to Stephanie Minna, manager of corporate communications for Cadbury Adams, the spot is a teaser for a larger campaign that will launch in April.
Minna and MacLaren McCann both declined to offer further details about the spring campaign.
