Scotties is once again putting consumers in the design seat, letting them create their own tissue box through its online Scotties’ Design Challenge.

The Kruger brand first launched the contest two years ago when it started positioning its tissue boxes as part of home décor.

The contest, developed by Solutions with Impact, takes this idea one step further by involving consumers in the design process.

“The Scotties brand is focused on stylish box designs for any room of the house and the Design Challenge 2010 is a fresh, creative way to connect with our consumers to find out what inspires them,” said Oliver Bukvic, category director- facial tissue, Kruger Products L.P.

Consumers can create the next Scotties box with online tools at Scotties.ca for a chance to win a $10,000 “Ultimate Room Reno” and have their design featured on a box. Participants have until Nov. 15 to enter.

Scotties ran other marketing promotions last year, but returned to the Design challenge due to the great success achieved during the inaugural year, said Lorraine Quartaro, director of communications, Solutions with Impact.

The first contest saw more than 23,000 entries, said Bukvic.

To get inspired, consumers can check out designs created by the grand prize winner or the runners up from the 2008 contest.

“We look forward to receiving the amazing design submissions and seeing what inspires Canadians,” said Bukvic.

In addition, consumers can enter a unique PIN numbers found inside specially marked packages of Scotties six and nine multipacks for the chance to instantly win one of 10 Apple iPads.
