Award-winning Flash Reproductions of Toronto has taken a bold move and introduced digital printing to its conventional offset and screen printing operation with the installation of an MGI Meteor DP 60 PRO XL digital press.
Purchased from Montreal-based KBR Graphics, the MGI system is the first-of-its-kind operating in Ontario.
“It’s exciting to be the first in our area to have a new digital press that offers so much,” notes Flash Reproductions president Rich Pauptit in a news release. (Pauptit is pictured on the far right with business partner David Gallant)
Among the many features Pauptit favours in the new MGI is its ability to print directly on a variety of substrates including plastic, polyester, polycarbonate, polypropylene, PET, vinyl, synthetics, styrene, vinyl/static cling, canvas, and magnets. “We print on a lot of synthetic plastics,” says Pauptit.
Other unique features include the digital printer’s capability of handling sheets up to 13 x 40 inches and printing at 2,400 dpi.
Flash Reproductions, founded by Pauptit’s father Carl in 1969, has established a reputation in the printing community for its willingness and ability to take on challenging printing projects and create award-winning pieces.
The installation of the new MGI digital press continues the company’s tradition of remaining unique while delivering solutions for its clients big and small.
