On November 24th Canon Canada introduced its all new series of imageRUNNER ADVANCE multi-function printers to the media, including top end C9075 PRO and C9065 PRO printers targeting the light production print markets, including small copy centres, quick print shops and commercial print companies.
The high speed model (C9075 PRO) can print up to 75 black-and-white pages per minute (ppm) and 70 ppm in colour, while the C9065 PRO prints up to 65 ppm in both b/w and colour.
The new models print 1,200 dpi and use Canon’s fine particle pQ toner, which incorporates wax, eliminating the need for fuser oils. The systems also use inline densitometers for real-time calibration to ensure consistent colour. Attributes standard on Canon’s ImagePRESS line of printers for the graphic arts market.
The new ADVANCE printers can take on sheets up to 13 x 19-1/4 inches and weights up to 110 lb. cover (300gsm). The printers handle coated stocks and are able to accommodate tab paper from two trays. The system can also feed envelopes. The total paper capacity, including the optional POD Deck, is up to 9,300 sheets.
For productivity both toner and paper can be replenished on the fly, and new in-line finishing options include multiple folds (Z-fold, C-fold and more), multiple punching options including insertable dies for wire, ring and others, plus integrated saddle stitching with face trim.
The new light production models become available in December and run about one-third the price of Canon’s high-end ImagePRESS solutions.
