Most recently called the Domtar Distribution Group, or better known in Canada by its legacy brands Buntin Reid, JBR La Maison du Papier and The Paper House, Domtar is again re-branding its supplies business division with the name Ariva.
The fresh moniker is a move Domtar calls: “the beginning of a new era in the company’s development as a leading provider of best-in-class solutions for the 21st century.”
The Ariva name is accompanied by a new tagline—Paper to pixels. The way forward.—a declaration intended to convey the company’s commitment to “innovating new ideas and solutions to meet the evolving needs of customers in the digital age.”
According to Mark Ushpol, senior vice-president of Ariva, the brand provides a strong, unified identity for the company in all markets where it operates, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America.
The company’s Canadian roots date back to the mid-1800s, with Buntin Reid founded in Ontario in 1856, JBR La Maison du Papier dating back to 1843 in Québec’s and The Paper House’s history going back to 1895 in Atlantic Canada.
In 2004 Domtar amalgamated its graphics supply business under the name Domtar Distribution Group, and now as a business unit of Domtar Corp., Ariva will continue the centuries-old practice of supplying paper, packaging and graphics supplies along with its new products and solutions.
