This year’s international trade expo for the printing industry, IPEX, served as the stage for the unveiling of the new corporate identity for InfoPrint Solutions, clearly identifying the brand as the sole property of the Ricoh Company Ltd. of Japan.

InfoPrint Solutions emerged as a joint venture between Ricoh and IBM on June 4th, 2007 when Ricoh initiated its takeover of IBM’s Colorado-based printing systems division (IBM received US$725 million cash at closing of the initial deal).

That initial deal saw Ricoh acquire 51 percent of the business, with the company gradually assuming full control and paying off the deal over three years. As of midnight on June 30th, 2010, InfoPrint Solutions will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ricoh, and as of this week all products will bear the new brand logo (pictured above) removing the IBM name (former logo below).

According to the company, the new identity with a bold Ricoh logo above the InfoPrint Solutions tagline "combines the strength of the InfoPrint Solutions name with the global prominence of the Ricoh brand."

Ricoh InfoPrint Solutions will maintain its worldwide headquarters in Boulder, Colorado with Daisuke Segawa as president and CEO.

“The new logo illustrates the strategic evolution of our brand,” said Peter Lazaroff, InfoPrint Solutions’ vice president of marketing communications in a release. “It is a logical progression from the joint venture logo – which our many stakeholders have come to recognize – to our new logo, which includes several familiar elements, yet speaks to the progress of InfoPrint Solutions.”
