Chicago-based R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. has extended its relationship with Air Canada, signing of a multi-year, multi-million dollar print management agreement including production, warehousing, fulfillment and distribution of printed documents and related services.
"Our extensive range of products, services and solutions enables customers like Air Canada to streamline their print procurement processes by fulfilling all of their print-related needs from a single source," notes Allen Hallis, president of RR Donnelley Canada, in a company statement. "
RR Donnelley has been working with the airline in development of self-serve kiosks for ticketing and baggage tags.
“We extended our relationship with RR Donnelley based on their exceptional customer service, excellent product quality and success in significantly driving down Air Canada’s print-related costs over the past three years," noted Geoffrey Arscott, director of strategic purchasing at Air Canada, in the release. "Working with RR Donnelley has supported Air Canada’s implementation of innovative solutions that help simplify our customers’ check-in process, such as our recently introduced self-serve baggage tag kiosks.”
Donnelley’s Canadian operations, with sales in 2008 of US$232 million, include former Moore Canada form and label plants, data centres and commercial printing sites in Vancouver (Benwell Atkins), Edmonton (Quality Color) and Toronto (MIL-formerly Grafikom).
