Learning from those active in the field is a key ingredient of the second annual Digital Printing Forum being held Wednesday, May 11 in Toronto at Ryerson University.
Once again the event organizer, Interquest, has pulled together an impressive lineup of speakers and panelists from across the industry.
The day-long conference is broken into two topic areas—multi-channel communications in the morning, followed by book and manual printing in the afternoon.

Ed Rooney, director business development, Lowe Martin Group, an original Canadian NexPress site;
Rich Bassett, president, Bassett Direct, home to high-capacity Xeikon digital colour printing;
Julie Northrup, innovations specialist with Harmony Innovations of Toronto;
Andrew Pate of Michigan-based book printers Edwards Brothers, Inc.;
Rob Clements, of the Ingram Content Group;
David Hetherington, vice president academic/educational merchandising and digital printing with U.S.-based Baker & Taylor, a book and media distributor.
Speaking from the client side will be:
Maureen Kotopski, senior manager, with Co-operators Life Insurance Company;
Heather Davies, production manager, Annick Press Ltd.;
Bryon Moore, general manager, Grey House Publishing Canada;
Sharon Houston, director of manufacturing and paper, Pearson Canada;
David Ward, production manager, Random House of Canada/McClelland & Stewart.
Also addressing integrated multi-channel campaigns will be Eleanor Rafter, director partner program planning and strategy with Canada Post and Kate Dunn, president, Digital Innovations Group of Virginia.
Kicking off the day will be John Zarwan, president of J. Zarwan Partners, along with Toby Cobrin, a director with Interquest, presenting on recent North American research on direct marketing, direct mail, and multi-channel communications.
The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Ryerson University. Full-day registration is $280. The digital printing and multi-channel communications sessions in the morning alone are $185, and the afternoon’s digital book printing sessions alone are $175.
