Burlington, Ontario’s Eclipse Colour and Imaging Corp. (Eclipse Imaging) already boasts one of the most unique line-ups of printing equipment in Canada, and now the company has installed a Zünd G3 digital cutter, the latest generation of flatbed cutter/routers from the Swiss manufacturer.
Eclipse, a printing company that dates back to 1954, has positioned itself as a leader in large format printing capability with extra-large 77-inch sheetfed offset printing presses, grand format digital inkjet printers and large format digital flatbed printing, all housed in its 70,000 sq. ft. building.
The company specializes in producing out-of-home advertising (billboards, transit shelters and other outdoor placements) as well as retail in-store promotions including in-store signage, point of sale (POS), and point of purchase (POP). Clients from across North America include well-recognized brands from automotive and financial to high-end fashion and luxury items.
The company’s new digital cutter will allow more creative options for its POP/POS production, permitting unique cutting patterns and removing limitations when it comes to the selection of substrates. The Zünd G3 cuts materials up to two inches thick. The versatile cutter can also automatically trim and contour-cut projects such banners, in-store promotions as well as floor graphics and displays.
Eclipse underwent an ownership change last year, as two employees bought out the company from its previous American owners.
