Ottawa-based Hawley Signs has diversified its production technology base with the recent installation of an HP Scitex FB500 printer.

Established in 1966 Hawley Signs provides internal and external signage for major shopping centres, high-tech companies and election campaigns.

“We installed the HP Scitex FB500 Printer on March 18th and it ran for 12 hours every day for the first five days primarily printing full-colour election signage, “ said Jason Hawley, owner of Hawley Signs, in a release.

The new printing machine’s speed and versatility fit well into Hawley’s existing technology mix.

“We’re one of the few sign shops in Ottawa that still does tradition silk screen printing,” said Hawley. The company’s new HP Scitex FB500 printer complements its screen printing operation by allowing the company to perform versatile short-run jobs in a more cost effective way. The digital printing option is also a more environmentally friendly alternative.
